From a Friend's Kitchen to 10,000 Macarons a Week: The Macadons Story

From a Friend's Kitchen to 10,000 Macarons a Week: The Macadons Story

Most bakeries do not start with a business plan. Macadons started with a gift. In 2014, our founder began making macarons by hand for friends and family, the kind of gift that is more personal than a store-bought box. It caught on faster than anyone expected.

From Side Project to Full Time
In 2017, our founder made the leap from a full-time job to running Macadons full time. What started as a handful of macarons made as gifts grew, batch by batch, into a real production operation.

Where We Are Today
Macadons now produces more than 10,000 macarons a week and employs a team of people who have made a career out of a craft that most people only attempt once, on a baking show, before giving up. We are proud of both the product and the jobs it has created.

Two Cafes, Two Different Neighborhoods
Our flagship cafe in Renton is where it all started, a place for the community to come enjoy our signature macarons in person. Our Bellevue cafe, tucked inside Lexus of Bellevue, came later and turned into one of the more unexpected and fun parts of our story: a French bakery inside a car dealership.

What Sets Us Apart
Somewhere along the way, we started experimenting with printing logos and photos directly onto macaron shells. It began as a novelty and turned into one of our most requested services, especially for corporate gifting and events. Macadons also holds MBE (Minority Business Enterprise) certification through Northwest Mountain MSDC, which matters for the corporate partners we work with.

What Hasn't Changed
Every macaron is still handcrafted in small batches. The scale is bigger now, but the reason we started is the same: macarons made with real care, meant to be shared with people you care about.
