Most of our custom printing orders are logos: company branding, event graphics, monograms. But every so often, someone asks for something we did not see coming. Here are a few of our favorites, kept generic where the original request was private.
Pet Portraits
People print their dog's face on macarons more often than you would think. It has become one of our most requested just-for-fun custom orders, usually for a birthday or a pet-themed party.
A Marriage Proposal
Someone once ordered a single custom-printed macaron with a proposal message on it, meant to be the final course of a private dinner. We will not say whether it worked, but we like to think it helped.
Baby Announcements
Printed macarons showing up in a gift box as the reveal for a pregnancy announcement have become a small but steady trend, usually ordered by grandparents-to-be.
A Full Album Cover
One customer had us print a scaled-down version of an album cover across a full box of macarons, arranged so the images lined up when the box was opened. It is one of the more technically fussy orders we have done, and one of the most fun.
What This Tells Us
The custom printing started as a corporate tool, but it turns out people want to put almost anything meaningful to them on a macaron. If you have an idea, even an unusual one, it is worth asking us. Chances are we have either done something close to it, or we are happy to figure it out.
